Re: a childs look
Thanks Josh.. no I appreciate your input. I'm familiar with photoshop and layer masks I just did'nt like the finished product no matter what I did.. it still looked wrong.. maybe what I should do is really darken the background on that side.. could add drama.. or not :D I'm parked on the edge of I-84 in my rv on the way… -
Re: Going on a Camping Field Trip - Bring SLR, Buy P&S, or None?
If this becomes a regular thing I would look into an Olympus E-620 2 lens kit, the telephoto is smaller than Canon's 18-55 IS and I fit it with 4 lenses covering in 35mm equivalent 18-36 28-84 80-300 and a 70mm macro all in a bag meant for a superzoom P&S. There are also the m4/3 options now and a EPL-1 is not much more… -
Re: Guizhou Province, China -- Part One (large post)
Great series Mary Sue thankyou for showing us. I was on a deployment in guizhou in '84. The food was a pretty huge learning curve but the people were fantastic. I still have a lot of local crafts from there laying about the house. The local alcohol in the white clay bottles was a very aquired taste. I had a brand new canon… -

Re: lest we forget
My Dad, who turned 84 this year, is a WWII vet of the Canadian Navy (when we had one). As such I find your shots poignant and moving. You may not have got all the shots you wanted, but these are great. Along with my father, I will be attending the grand opening of the new Canadian War museum on May 8th, and hope to… -
Re: My home made snoot - I
I have built my own snoot (let's call it so for the sake of simplicity) with a sheet of A4 paper. 1. I have glued it with scotch tape (hope I make myself understand) at the size of the flash. 2. I have scotched the black straws all together as I have done before as seen in the beginning of this thread. 3. I then cut the… -
