Winners of Mini Challenge #115 - Machines
Thanks to everyone who submitted photos and commentary! I really enjoyed seeing everyone's machines. It definitely took me a while to whittle down the responses to my favorites. Honorable Mentions sherstone - Gear Fly Brilliantly creative. I love it. SimpsonBrothers - Edelbrock Ok, might technically be against my rules,… -
Re: Cobranding bug with  ?
This is definitely a bug which was acknowledged by smugmug when I mentioned it a few weeks ago via e-mail. In my case, I attempt to avoid spambots by encoding my e-mail address with alternate encoding. For example, I enter the address "mail@server.com" as & #109; & #97; & #105; & #108; & #64; & #115; & #101; & #114; &… -
Should I... again?
April 19th this year will be my 20th wedding anniversary.:huh We were just kids in love with parents that didn't understand when we got married... We drove out to Vegas and eloped. Spent a whopping $115 plus $40 in gas. :rofl We've decided to renew our vows this year. We're going to go back to the little chapel we married… -
Re: Any better?
- the only pictures that were at her house are #1 & the 1st one in my reply! :) All the others are at a local park. Actually, a majority of the pictures are in the more "natural" areas, but I was pretty pleased with most of them. I would like to improve my other styles so that's why I posted them for critique! :) There are… -
Re: Equine - Hunters/Jumpers: Rose City Opener
Thanks for the comments! The pans were done at 1/60 with the IS in mode 2 (panning mode for Canon IS). I have used 1/30 for dressage before. I have not tried the 70-200 with the IS off completely, but sometimes use the 135 or 85 primes or the 16-35 on a second body which do not have IS. Any experience for which is… -
Re: Photo Sometimes Shows up Below Thumbnails in Smugmug View
Thanks everyone for the advice and for the nice comments. I was out all day yesterday enjoying Thanksgiving w/ the family, but I tried fixing it this morning with successful results. I took Andy's advice and went and checked my system zoom and it was already set to 100%, so I checked the zoom in each of my respective… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
My database is now full of data! Looks good so far. Took me 8 hours for 8700 images in 115 albums. Haven't tried anything with the database yet - just looked at the tables. Hopefully I'll get some more out of it soon. I discovered one problem regarding the captions: During my post-processing at one step there's a… -
Re: David's Bridal update
It was my decision to do such a thing. I talked to David's Bridal and they were very excited at the store. I went in Saturday morning setup the studio right in the middle of the store and every customer has to walk past me to get to the fitting rooms This is my pro-active approach to getting my photo business off the… -
Re: Add/uploaded photos not appearing
The problem might be my connection being interrupted? I use Firefox and the beta uploader to drag and drop my photos into smugmug. I reported several different problems last month, and the problems continue. Last night I uploaded 115 photos from 7 different folders. When I went back to check on the upload I wound up with… -
Re: Spyder4 Express or Pro?
Thanks, everybody, for you input! I have no clue! I was hoping you knew. :D I like that the Elite has the simpler - and more accurate - luminance controls. But I'm having trouble justifying going from $115 (for the Express) to the Elite (more than double at $250) based on that alone. So what else would make the Elite more…
