Re: Heading to Oregon (Portland Area)....
There's actually a book on photographing the Oregon coast. Google it-- though you won't be able to come close to covering the coast in a five days! There is still TONS of snow here (it snowed in the mountain passes just this week) so keep that in mind in terms of Mt. Hood. The roads are open but a lot of the side trips are… -
Re: upload timeout - tracert included
I am not sure what this tells you, since my tracert is complete, but I can only occasionally access my page. And, when I am lucky enough to connect there are many errors--most importantly, no photos show up. I have tried Mozilla, Firefox and IE from 3 seperate computers in my house with the same result. Below is my tracert… -
Re: The Great Nikon vs. Canon Debate
I haven’t seen so much self satisfaction being passed around since my son’s boy scout troop got caught in a circle jerk. I remember the good ole 10D focusing fiasco. If the 10D had focused properly I would have gotten that over the D100 but alas when I tried it out the rumors of it having a focusing problem were proven… -
Re: Photos Not Coming Up Under My Domain
When you say "it is a best practice", do you mean SEO wise or branding wise? I concur that branding wise, it's best if the image come from your custom domain, but SEO wise it's better to have it come from a domain with a higher page rank. There's a reason why some of the experts in SEO training (like Moz.com) use image… -
Re: Struggling with focus points on the 7D
Here's how I understand it: There are 3 choices (that I know of so far) for focusing. 1) Manual Select: Single point autofocus *what you're looking for. 2) Manual Select: Zone AF 3) Auto Select: 19 Point AF *The mode I think you're stuck in. *See NOTE1 below. There are 2 other modes which by default are not selectable.… -
Re: Assignment #4: Stone
I'm confused, Which Stone? I googled 'stone' and top listing is "1 stone = 6.35029318 kilograms" So should I shoot something that is 14 pounds? Does that include something that cost 14 pounds? If I shoot something 28 pounds would that be something that is too stoned? If I shoot pebbles, wouldn't Fred and Wilma get mad?… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
F150.. V8.. Ranger.. I'm so your guy. I currently drive a 2003 Ford Ranger FX4 Level II. It is a 4x4 (hence the FX4 name) has the 4.0L V6 w/ a manual trans. The 'Level II' bit is a special 'off-road' package that adds quite a bit of weight by way of a heavier axle, special skid plates and the sort. The package also means… -
Re: Baseball action photos - to blur motion or not

Now time to take it a step further. Bobby's comments are all right on the money. Here is some reinforcement of his comments plus some additional ones* Need to… -

Re: Do they make a digital enlarger?
They made positive paper for printing Trannys. Those old enough and with enough experience would remember Ciba chrome. Expensive as gold but the depth and shine of the paper was better than anything around since. I suppose anyone that's never Done their own colour silver halide printing could have any idea of what's…
