Re: Wide angle
photojournalism Now I understand a lot better why photojournalists like superwide zooms. I went to the Newton MA town hall for the first day of same sex marriage licenses. I brought my 28-70 and my 16-35. I started with the 28-70, but it was hopless pretty quickly. When something is a big event it's just too crowded to use… -

Re: softbox question
I was going to show both readings in the same image, of the fixed shaft and the extension in the same image, but it required too large an image to show the detail. (Apologies for the poor images but it's been a long day and I'm too tired to do it properly.) Here is the "extension" measurement: ... and here is the fixed… -
Re: Canon Angle Finder C
ZigView Thank you for replying. I donT think it is a good idea to buy it for now. The goal of my search was in searching a way to help for doing the focus in the little hole of the camera (sorry for my bad english). I finally found something more "exciting". For my Canon 5D I found a Nikon Eye piece magnifier DG-2 with the… -

Re: No Photos Please
Weddings. Even as the contracted photographer, if the official has requested no photos during portions of, or all of, a ceremony, I put the camera down and enjoy the events. It's part of my contract that I DON'T EVER violate the house rules. All other occasions - again it's house rules. One either respects the rules or, my… -
Re: filters
I use filters for protection when I know I am going into a area that would be detrimental to the lens (windy beaches) or on my vacation lens. Hoods I find protect the lens much better IME. But the best protection you can have is common sense and get your stuff insured!!! It's cheap, I get $5000 for $56 a year. :D I would… -
