Re: stock photo sites
Alamy is a good place to get started. They've recently introduced some improvements to the intake process which allows you to upload images (previously you had to mail a CD!). They also do not attempt to edit your work outside of purely objective criteria. That's more important after we talk about... Photoshelter… -
Re: speed
I have been experiencing extreme slowness for the past two days. Galleries showing thumbs but not photos. Photos sometimes only appearing as half a photo, until another page refresh. This is not normal for my access in New Jersey. Attaching Trace Route and Ping results. Let me know if you would want me to do anything else.… -
Re: >>> DSS Challenge #5 (Primary or Pastel): Feedback Thread
Page 6.... 51 - cheech4487 - love on the side - Another flower, and this is one of the strong entries. Very little to crticize, nice composition and technical execution. There are two others I think I like better, but it is so hard, a number of strong flower entries. Good job. 52 - Tentacion - Fierce - My is that some red… -
Re: Animoto resolution still problem, and other Animoto stuff
Andy: I sent a follow up email to Animoto's help desk and did get a response shortly thereafter. Whatever it was that left me out in the cold for a while had either been repaired, or simply went away...so I am able to log back in again. As others have noted, the Anmoto experience thus far is both exciting and frustrating… -
Re: Wedding Day Disappointment (A cry for help)
Opinions on a few shots I don't count myself among the skilled and talented, but I'll offer my "whipping post style" opinions on a select few shots: Camera shake blur in some photos. Photos like this one were taken at 1/15 and are not sharp anywhere. Assuming the equipment isn't this bad, it's probably motion blur from the… -
Re: Calibrated Monitor And Photo Printed
I see... I think I will shoot my head... In my country the available paper is about 3 kind of different grams in the Epson paper (not differnt kind of surfaces and chemical composition) which 24 sheets costs 60 dollars and the paper I can afford (there are not more options), which is Foto Jet, Folex Imaging....... :( I… -
Re: ProAutoSports club racing
Sure Aaron. If you are shooting in bright sun light, you should have not problem shooting ISO 100-200. If you are shooting in the day time but it is very cloudy or overcast, then you may need to be around ISO200-400. I am not sure what mode you are shooting in, but I would be in Tv (shutter priority). On your true pan… -
Re: *** new comments and critiques procedure ***
Like the many replys before me, I have definite opinions on the new challenge format. (I have humbly placed my own soapbox before you ... :D ) I joined smugmug in the early spring and immediately found dgrin and the many popular threads. Even a few months ago, the challenge threads to me were like a slow moving stream...… -
Re: Was in a B&W mood today

Unfortunately im not flying in the job im in right now so ive been stuck on the same base in tikrit here for about 2 months now. If your really curious to see what more of the country…
