Re: Broken old Canon 300mm 2.8
Plea Hi, Thanks for the tip on KEH, they have been very helpful, and told me what the price is for the spare ($108). However they don't want to sell me the spare, but gave me the Canon US spares number. I said thanks a lot and called the number. Bottom line is Canon US will not/cannot ship outside the US. Canon UK, say… -
Re: system error(nofiles)
I have - it's the result of either (a) an OS kernel running out of available file handles, or (b) a shell process running into it's limit of open file descriptors. In either case, if the system can't open a file because it's run out of file handles, it'll throw a "nofiles" error and terminate the process. Find a Unix admin… -
Re: LPS#8 feedback thread
Thanks Indiegirl, that means alot to me!!! I have been off-line for a few days due to a flood in my house, and just barely got back on the computer in time last night to use Photoshop. I almost fell out of my chair looking at the entries this round. I just want to say that I am so hugely impressed with the quality and… -
Re: Dealing with seamless paper background
Thanks for the ideas. I was thinking that I should tape the edge to prevent the tearing, but with two kids running around I didn't have time to look and not have them knock everything over on top of themselves :) When I started rolling the paper back up, quite unsuccessfully I might add, I decided to cut a piece of the… -
Photos merge in PTGui terrifically
PTGui is all right, almost. 27 shots (in landscape format) merged without any input from me. (Reshaped with some overlap to fit the page better) The picture is from the top of Bodie Mountain (10,150') near the ghost town of Bodie, CA. The town is low in the image at about 108 degrees. It was 10F and wind was gusting to 40… -
Re: Cobranding bug with  ?
This is definitely a bug which was acknowledged by smugmug when I mentioned it a few weeks ago via e-mail. In my case, I attempt to avoid spambots by encoding my e-mail address with alternate encoding. For example, I enter the address "mail@server.com" as & #109; & #97; & #105; & #108; & #64; & #115; & #101; & #114; &… -
Re: portable printer for outside shots
We have a table set up with 3 viewing laptops and one printing laptop. Clients view shots from the event throughout the day on the viewing stations (running picasa on a login using parental controls to restrict usage/changes so that they can't mess with anything else on the computer) and can request prints on site. We have… -

Withdrawn: Nikon 60/28-85/and TC
AF Micro Nikon 60mm 1:2.8 D, Lens is in fair to good condition with a few rubs and scratches (minor). There is a crack in plastic cover on the distance scale but the lens works as it should and the optics look great. I would like to get $275 obo shipped and paypaled in the US. I will offer a 3 day trial on this lens… -
Re: EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS II Telephoto Zoom
The 18-55 seems to fit the area fine so even though that is not the best lens for my job, I'll just start with it before I start spending another $300+ for more glass. My bigger problems noware how to set up the awfully big paper backdrop, 108" wide, I cant believe I got that instead of just going with some cloth sheets...…
