Jumping In - Head First
I'll preface this post with a little background on myself. I'm 18, just out of high school. Not that it matters, but I am taking the GED test in 10 days; Didn't do the regular diploma route due to circumstances beyond my control. Anyway, I find myself with a lot of free time (between jobs). Photography and Post Processing… -
Re: speed
I have been experiencing extreme slowness for the past two days. Galleries showing thumbs but not photos. Photos sometimes only appearing as half a photo, until another page refresh. This is not normal for my access in New Jersey. Attaching Trace Route and Ping results. Let me know if you would want me to do anything else.… -
Re: sportsshooter membership
Man, that about sums it up right there. I've got something to add to this post that I unfortunately learned the hard way. Just because you get accepted doesn't mean that these guys will give you the shirts of their backs. If you aren't a full time photographer who makes their living selling pics, it's going to be a bit of… -
Re: Freelance shooting of sports events
I second what others here say: first try to contact the event organizer. He/she may have somebody else lined up. You might get them to put a link to your photos on the event website alongside the results. Chances are that who shoots photos ranks low on the race director's list of concerns. If you don't get any support from… -
Re: Un-official Unsolicited Vista and Windows 7 Advice Thread
Good software (free or cheap) http://www.feedreader.com/downloadOne advantage of PCs is that because of the market share there is more software available. This isn't to say there's something you can do on a PC that no software exists for on a Mac, just that we have more options. So let's talk about some software that I've… -
Re: Church Wedding NO Flash! HELP!
Yes, you should always meet with the officiant beforehand anyway, especially in a new location. Remember every rule is made because someone else caused it to be made. Likely it was an idiot disrepectful photographer (or likely MANY) that made them institute these rules. You are NOT going to get them to change, and there's… -
Re: Howto: Smugmug integration with Lightroom
There are probably as many workflows as there are photographers. Everyone likes things slightly different. But you can certainly benefit from what works for others. Im currently in the process of switching my workflow, so i'll just explain what im doing from now on. I ingest my images from my camera using Downloader Pro.… -
Re: Wedding Help!
To be blunt .... I fear your friend is going to get what (s)he paid for. I looked through what I could of your galleries (a lot of them are locked down and/or hidden). Didn't see anything that says you can work with people - of course you have a number of shoots that I couldn't get to. I worry that you don't have… -
Re: Gallery titles suddenly huge!
@leftquark this release would not have been any less exiting if you had to delay it by a week or a month or what ever necessary to fix what wasn't in place on the day you wanted to do the initial release of it. (Well of course unless you think of the later bug fixes as being exiting :D) Of course initial you might hear… -
Re: changing slideshow source gallery
Slideshow isn't in my bio box. I believe it's in the Javascript box. Still don't know what to replace. Any help at all? Here is the code in my Jave box: //filmStrip values you can override: rightMoves = -5; leftMoves = 5; /*=========================*/ /*== SLIDE SHOW ==*/ /*== version 0.56 ==*/ /*== Updated 03 May 2006…
