Re: Star*Explorer Thread
New version 1.0.0.217 uploaded Thanks to the relentless efforts of John Friend (not many of my customers can bug me like he does :-), the long-standing issue of improper timeouts (and hopefully, dreadful "invalid handle" messages) seems to be fixed now. Yes, it was Microsoft bug (ha-ha), and I didn't know that at the… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
can you tell me exactly which boxes to change/check/uncheck please? I want to make sure we are on the same level as to what I am changing and such. Under "Connection" in the "Error Handling" section I changed Request Timeout from "0" to "3" and instead of getting 2 galleries that S*E and Smugmug couldn't agree on, I ended… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Brad, thank you for the props! As to the 100% - it's in fact a side effect of multi threaded upload. When all seven threads are in action, at the end they all seven can be waiting for the server result (which can take a while is SM is busy). From their standpoint the 100% of their work is done... I know it may be an… -

Re: Star*Explorer Thread
John, I double checked.. I guess you're right (I should've known better, you're always right:-). Yes, privacy only means they are (very) hard to discover by accident. Sharegroups simply allow you to group such galleries into some collections/sets. Sorry, I was wrong... :bash Anyway, it's more like SM usage issue, I can't… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
New Star*Explorer version uploaded: 196 New feature for the Full Text Search: miltiple items are allowed. Later I have been often asked for small copies of my runway images, which I don't have a problem giving aways, wince they all carry my logo and work as a free advertizing. However, locating those was realy a tedious… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
S*E: v.148: now with Upload Log Viewer! Many of use were caught by surprise when a couple months ago Smugmug changed the internal upload procedure. Originally a file was brought to the Smugmug server, immediately analyzed upon delivery and then either rejected or accepted. That allowed for a file-by-file synchronous… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Chris, you guys did all the hard work , I was simply hopeful enough to put some user-configured things in S*E design hoping that one day they will be used:-) Well, one of these days just arrived! Now getting them back - that's gonna be an interesting task. We don't want to deal with Roach Hotel MkII, do we? :-) I mean,… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Unfortunately It's not possible. Windows drag and drop works as a black box and gives me (an application programmer) absolutely no way to know in which order the files being dropped were originally selected. They always come sorted by name That's why S*E has a full sleuth of ways to change and fix that order. As a…
