Re: Star*Explorer Thread
And here I was a first time user of S*E and I thought it was a silly user error. What I did find was that it creates the album but tell you it didnt work. It will then stick in a loop loading the photos into the album but it thinks the photos didnt load so keeps trying - what you find out is that you have an album created… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Allen, With the two threads running simultaneousely there is a chance that if you cancel the file that was actually uploaded would remain in queue. Otherwise if S*E gets the upload notification it should remove the file from the queue. My main goal when processing "Cancel" was to preserve the queue, since it can be tricky… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Hey Nik, glad that you're still around. I've somehow missed your S*E releases and posts in the SM API board!! I guess it's related to the fact that Don hasn't released any new API stuff for quite a long time ago. He's even more busy than ever these days I guess. Whatever - hope you're alright! Have a great weekend too,… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Ben, once you import the image info it stays in a local cache even if you delete original images from SM or your HDD. I *think* if you redo "get image info" it should remove those that were deleted, but I'm not sure about it right now. In any case it looks like a temp glitch, hopefully it's gone by now. Another thing to do… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Over at Smugmug Blogs there's a discussion about getting geography information into the EXIF-data before uploading the pictures. I use the WWMX tool myself to add the location data to my pictures. Afterwards I just upload the pictures using any uploader I want to - most of the time S*E of course - and *whoop* Smugmug… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Some recent usage info One of the useful mantras I use as a developer is "eat your own dog food". Hence all my uploads are done with S*E. If there is anything that stands in my way - it gets fixed, some sooner, some later. This one was that took me a while to develop, maintain and improve up to the point that it is… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
My database is now full of data! Looks good so far. Took me 8 hours for 8700 images in 115 albums. Haven't tried anything with the database yet - just looked at the tables. Hopefully I'll get some more out of it soon. I discovered one problem regarding the captions: During my post-processing at one step there's a… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Beta version 203 uploaded EDIT: 202 had a serious bug in Thumbnail mode, better get 203 fast:-)* No need for /debug=1 command line parameter anymore. I suggest to remove it since it's easy to stumble on some other construction mess with it present. * More toolbar commands in new Images pane, as well as some in popup menu.… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Very Cool, but I have a request and a slight bug issue Howdy Nik- So a situation that will make you chuckle. I am running S*E on my VMWare Fusion of Win XP Pro SP3 (2G assigned to it... blah blah) I have it saving the files directly to the Mac hard drive through the shared folders of VMWare. No translation like i used to… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Nikolai: I think my evaluation copy of Star*Explorer expired, so I'll have to ask here: S*E supports searching by Keywords, as well as Captions, yes? So if you're displaying a view of all the photos across galleries with the keyword of "Noah", can you just "Select All" and choose to download the originals to your hard…
