Re: A Fast Lens
You've gotten a lot of great advice with respect to the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS and some other lenses. Let me throw you some curve balls :D* EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS - This is my goto lens for almost all indoor work, epecially events (parties, etc) where light is at a premium. I don't use it so much for studio work (see next item).… -
Re: About Nikon Capture NX...
More on NX Hi Dick, I’m sorry about the time delay, but I posted just before going to bed last night, and I missed your post until this morning. Woke up at 5:30 and it was foggy, and since it was also 75-f it was too muggy to sleep-in any longer. I don’t have NC 4.4, I did try the trial, but held off buying to see what… -
Re: Getting a camera cleaning
Dust-bunnies on a DSLR sensor is a fact of life. I evaluate the condition of mine before every major shoot (wedding, engagement, etc). If I can see anything when I stop down to f/8, then it's time to clean it. But, I don't take it anywhere. I do it myself and save myself the time and frustration of dealing with others. It… -
Re: Slighly out-of-focus action shots with Canon XTi
I did some experimentation with the different focal points today. I ran a 10k race, and then shot some of the runners still in it and those doing some "cool down" slow easy running. Using the Digital Rebel XTi and 70 - 200 mm f/4L lense, I shot one set with the head as the focal point (top point in vertical orientation)… -
Re: In the Maze
Not so much in that immediate area per se, but the last 14-1/2 years, all over the Mojave Desert and the mountains around it. Starting tomorrow on a photo project of a somewhat local scenic highway that I want to take my time on through the summer. I figure it'll be nice to work up there when it gets hot. It was about 90… -

Re: Advertising
I found the FB btw. I'd add it in the signature. Here's a couple things that I've done to help share. I've started (with engagements) having the couples tell stories about themselves and how they met so that I can write a blog like this one on my site.... www.suchsweetlove.com This post is 1 day old. And just before I… -

Help with Reds--Color Corrections Advise
I could use some advise/help with a problem. I was asked (as a fellow band parent/booster) to take pictures of our band kids so we (the boosters) could make 'pride' buttons for the parents to wear in support of the kids. This is strictly a "do-it-yourself" project for the band boosters (my daughter is in the band). I was… -
Marrakech and subsahara villages - Morocco 2009
Hi all, Here are some of my favorite shots from our trip to Morocco in januari of 2009. We stayed in Marrakech for the majority of the time but also rented a car to drive through the high atlas towards the south eastern town of ouarzazate and through the draa valley towards the Algarian border. Hope you like the photos and…
