Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Got SmugVault? This AMAZing (pun intended) new service allows you to use your SM account to store ANY types of files online, not just jpegs. Sky is the limit (well, technically 512Mb per file:-). And the best thing - if you already have Star*Explorer, you don't have to worry about it :ivar . Sign up for SmugVault in your… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
My workflow just works differently. I end up with a thousand images spread across 10 directories, but the images are tagged with one or more keywords that indicates what gallery they go to. Rather than do 50 individual conversion passes (one for each gallery destination) to put each set of tagged images into it's own… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Note to users/customers I suppose most of you got excited with the latest release of Smugmug API 1.2.1, and I'm sure you all want S*E to win the October API contest. :-) Well, I can honestly tell you: this is not gonna happen. While I'm going to improve and enhance Star*Explorer, I feel it is my first responsibility to… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
I have been thinking about #8 and I have two possible solutions. And luckily I only have thousands not tens of thousands of photos to go through, plus I have some biz travel time on a plane to do some of this stuff. I am looking for more information about the Sync features in S*E. If I delete a file on my local drive, will… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
It's a moot point The whole reason I was cautios about caching image info locally was the high volatility of the latter substance. The only way for me to detect that some image (or album, or a category) is a ghost is to redownload the whole thing from scratch... And while it's relatively easy up to an album level, with… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
I understand now Sebastian, thank you so much for the clarification! As Andy keeps saying, "one picture worth.." (you know:-) Well, this is exactly the first part of the problem: the "Fall" theme is the first one in your list, therefore - I think - it is being applied. Interesting fact - I don't have this theme in my list,… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
188: coinitialize issue I have a few field reports that people are getting "coinitialize" error after upgrading to a new version (188 thus far). However it all seems to be related to the recent keys introduction, and is, in fact, fixable in place by following these simple steps. 1) make sure you have the latest version… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
New Year, new version! OK folks. It's a big one... * Move Albums (drag and drop) * Delete Albums * Rename Albums * Move Images (drag and drop) * Copy Images (drag and drop with Ctrl) * Delete Images * Hide/Unhide Images * Locate lost images locally * Export Images info in a variety of formats * Smart "get image info" *… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
SMTP email notification in S*E I am using StarExplorer 168 as a pro user (computermiracles.smugmug.com), having problems with SMTP email that requires authentication. When I set SE to use my home ISP for SMTP email, (smtp.west.cox.net), it works. But I believe that it works because my ip address matches the ISP provider… -
Re: Star*Explorer Thread
Aaron, First of all - thank you very much for your contribution! 8mb per file is a smugmug limit. I made it configurable only to avoid needless updates in case they change this limit - or if you want to be "holier than the pope":-) and want to restirct yourself from accidental uploading of some huge files (by setting the…
