Mini Challenge #218 - Glass ... Results
Whilst sitting by the computer, staring into space with a faraway look, wondering what topic to choose for this MC, my gaze invariably fell (and focussed) on various bits of glass (and plastic) containers a few feet away from me, that I’ve been cutting up for a current project. In the morning, these items, which lie on a… -

Re: Need new monitor...........
TNT?? perhaps you mean TFT? TFT-LCD = Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display TFT's encompass several variation's of an electronic matrix (LCD) that positions light filtering/blocking elements in a panel upon which images are displayed; this includes TN, MVA, PVA, and IPS matrix's. Re: This ought to get a reaction
We are going to have to disagree. I think photography, regardless if it's wedding, nature, journalism, etc. is an artistic expression of thought and the government has no business telling photographers what they can and cannot photograph, especially if it conflicts with moral or religious beliefs. There are bigger issues… -
Re: Wow! I need a new monitor!
Don't bother - a 6bit "TN" panel, suspect sRGB coverage, viewing angle issues Not too bad a choice but be aware that it is a "Wide Gamut" monitor. Do you work in the AdobeRGB or ProPhotoRGB color spaces? If you don't, then stick to a standard sRGB color space monitor. Your life will be a lot simpler and less stressful.… -
Re: Any monitors that flip to vertical?
! No stupidity, only naivity. We all start with the same knowledge base... :D Budget... no problem. Makes it simpler. Get just one of the Dell 2209WA. Note the link provided in the earlier post. Dell has several monitors with the "2209" in their model number. The others are less expensive and simply do not compare. The… -

Re: I need a monitor that loves to travel
I think for "not too much money" you are still going to have a crappy screen not much better than the laptop's (a TN panel) so what is the point? The biggest issue you are fighting is that the market has moved past your need. Almost all NEW "good" monitors manufactured in volume are 22" or larger and are 16:10 wide screens…
