I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to post their birds!! I wish I had the time to comment on every single image! I carefully studied every shot and somehow managed to narrow them down to the images below. It wasn't easy with so many great shots but I truly enjoyed it!! Wonderful images everyone!! :clap Honorable… -
Oklahoma City National Memorial (long and BWW)
What a very sad and sobering trip. :cry Descriptions are taken from the memorial website.Gates of Time These monumental twin gates frame the moment of destruction - 9:02 and mark the formal entrances to the Memorial. The east gate represents 9:01 on April 19th and the innocence before the attack. The west gate represents… -
Re: Review: The HDRI Handbook. "Don't throw it all away yet!"
Review, part 2: The HDRI Handbook. "Don't throw it all away yet!" Here are some details based on working with the methods described. An HDR > LDR workflow can be broken down into three parts. Bloch describes and compares the tools available for each part, and examples of these are provided on the DVD that comes with the… -
Re: Assignment #4: Stone
I'm confused, Which Stone? I googled 'stone' and top listing is "1 stone = 6.35029318 kilograms" So should I shoot something that is 14 pounds? Does that include something that cost 14 pounds? If I shoot something 28 pounds would that be something that is too stoned? If I shoot pebbles, wouldn't Fred and Wilma get mad?… -
Re: Action! (finally)
Good tips and assessment of the PJ style shooting. Correct me if I am wrong here (as I rely on your experience here) but I am thinking that Sportraits are something that maybe would be done more so after you have collected the larger lions share of the T&I images......? And if I put together a sportrait, of which I am sure… -

1027 miles, one flat tire and a hell of a lot of fun..
This past weekend, six of us got together for what has become an annual ride. The group is made up of mostly youngsters and us 'old' guys...hahahaha! You're as young as you feel :D Our route would take us through the Napa Valley to Eureka on day one. The next day found us testing the limits of traction (or some of us at… -
Re: Need Advice: Which Canon lens(es)?
Just to add my two cents to this, I am strong believer in the mentality that you will hear around here of "buy the gear that is right for you now, not the gear for the camera that you will possibly buy." That is not to say that you shouldn't buy gear that allows you some room to grow, just that the concern that you might… -
Re: PW Mini TT1
Nik, Remember these facts: I can't speak about all monolights, but here is some info to keep in mind about AB's. If you want the shortest flash duration times, you'll want the AB400 and have the power turned up to the maximum level. Yep, that's right, I said the maximum level... That goes for all the AB's. Now you will be…
