Re: Mic setup/software for adding audio to slideshow
Cheaper than the Zoom H1 and with similar quality sound?? ... IMHO, not too many options. I use the Zoom H4n, which is out of your price range. The H1 does a very nice job, also ... but I would personally not recommend anything "lesser" for what you are wishing to do. The H1 is available "barebones" for US$ 96.88 directly… -
Re: Question Re Wacom Tablet
I don't know if this will help, but there is a basic difference between how a mouse/trackpad locates vs. a Wacom stylus. When you pick up a mouse, then put it down, the pointer doesn't move. The mouse movement only starts where you start dragging, no matter if you picked up the mouse and put it somewhere else. With a… -
Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
OK, so I promised Baldy that I would report back on my blood chemistry. :D It's a mixed bag, but then again, I'm a mixed bag! I've been really diligent about the diet, maintaining a very strict ETL regimen. BUT: I work 9 hours minimum a day, have a 1+ hour commute each way, leaving very little time for exercise. On top of… -
Re: Photo Backups
I don't think it has always worked like that, leaving your computer off line for longer than 30 days, at least when I tried it out a few years ago it didn't seem to, so that's a significant improvement. But it does delete backup files after 30 days when you delete them on your system. And when you change a file on your… -
Before you ask for a "Copy To Gallery" or Virtual Galleries, read this!
This is a very very old request. It comes up so often, I almost think this thread should be sticky. The Problem To currently copy an image to another gallery, you have to create a copy of an image, then move it. Two separate functions. If you want to do this for multiple images, prepare for a lot of clicking. It's almost… -
Re: TIPS: How to break our from a dry spell?
I actually lost my interest for photography for almost 20 years, and have just recently this past year gotten back into it with all the same passion that I had before. I'm sure a 20 year hiatus isn't what you want to hear, but that was me. I don't know your situation, but Sean makes an invaluable point! Go back to the… -
Re: Are the Smugmug servers overloaded?
I'm still at 719 kbps download. I get 11MB at other POPs and 7-10MB with myspeed and other benchmark sites. Re: Erich's family vacation
Thanks Kevin! My post-processing workflow is as follows: 1. Convert to RAW images to DNG using DxO Optics software. This removes the lens' optical distortions and blur. Works really great. Check out their website at www.dxo.com. 2. Use Camera RAW in Photoshop to do exposure adjustments. I usually underexpose my shots… -
Re: Good camera for an outdoors kiosk?
It would be helpful to know the nature of the kiosk. I can envision safety, security, surveillance and access monitoring applications. Is your application one of these or something else? The more you describe the application the more definitive we can be in a product solution. -- Souvenir photos of foursomes at golf…
