Anyone upgrading to the new Canon 100mm f/2.8 L IS Macro?
Hi, I am curious if anyone plans to get the new L Macro with IS. The price is almost twice that of the non-L 100mm 2.8 Macro which itself is a superb performer but the MFT on Canon's site suggest the new one is even better: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=155&modelid=19091 I was… -
FS: Cannon EF 75-300 f/40-5.6 III USM
I recently (Dec 17, 07) bought a Cannon EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III USM (USA) from B&H but have decided to switch from my Cannon 20D to a Nikon D80. I paid $198.35 ($189.95 cost plus 8.40 shipping) and have barely used the lens. I have a receipt available. I'd like to get $155 for it (which includes shipping). Alternatively, I'd… -
Ritz Camera: Bad News and or Good News...
Depending on how you look at it, it's either bad news but good news too. It's bad news for those who are about to loose their jobs as I recently did from Linens-N-Things closing but now that I'm working again I was able to pick up a NIB vertical grip for my Sony A200 for only $155 w/tax at Circuit City's liquidation sales.… -
Re: Alien Bees with Modified Sine Wave Inverter?
I've priced it out, and I can make a diy vegabond (with the correct components) for ~$155. And i can create an even better one if I use a 600W pure sine wave inverter - which would bump up the cost to ~$230. The Vegabond II system uses a 300W inverter and costs ~$300. So it saves a considerable amount. Now, would I be ok… -
Re: 70~200 Canon f/2.8 IS L USM
I had both the 4 and the 2.8LIS models You will not be wrong with the 2.8L IS it is amazing! U cannot beat it. If you have the money then go for it. If you need to skimp on money then go for the cheaper... Either way know that money for something that should last 10 years is not a big differentiator... 1550/10 = 155… -

Re: Carolina Moon
Stan - your image is sharp, but lacks contrast, like Ginger's image. You must be shooting the same moon! :D When I clock your lightest pixels they are barely lighter than middle grey RGB values of 160, 155, 152 or therabouts. Your highlights on the moon should be near white 245,247, 250 or thereabouts. And then it would… -

Some stuff was sold, so here's update: Canon 30D body: $749.99 SOLD BG-E2 battery grip: $134.99 (compare to $155 if new) Kirk L-bracket for 30D with BG-E2: $139.99 (compare to $160 new). Re: Portraits of Aspiring Actor
Neil: continuous, charged by a 12 volt "brick" battery. It is an 183 light panel (Kelvin 155) with switchable diffusers that stay charged for about 4 hrs. It can be hotshoe mounted and swiveled or off- camera mounted (or hand held by a handy assistant.) Some versions can also be linked together to form increasingly bigger… -
Bolsa Chica Gallery
I live quite near Bolsa Chica and about once or twice a month I shoot there. At present I do not have any serious long glass like so many of the photogs have there. Just the same I have been able to get some relatively good shots. I am presently using a Nikon D80 with the 18mm - 200mm VR 3.5-5.6 lens. Since this only comes…
