Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
More proof I'm just wierd Some background: As recently as November I ate a cheeseburger or cheesestake every day for lunch, I'd have a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel for breakfast and dinner was anything from sushi to steak. I ate some veggies but not a lot. I also did a fairly intense workout at least once a week and was… -
Re: How to adjust skin tones in RGB
Okay, so I've been doing some long overdue reading about color spaces, and I can't believe what I've been missing. I've decided that it's time for me to upgrade to PS CS3 when it comes out, since I have clearly outgrown PSE. But back to my original question about how to apply this tutorial in RGB space, I think I have a… -
Mini Challenge #218 - Glass ... Results
Whilst sitting by the computer, staring into space with a faraway look, wondering what topic to choose for this MC, my gaze invariably fell (and focussed) on various bits of glass (and plastic) containers a few feet away from me, that I’ve been cutting up for a current project. In the morning, these items, which lie on a… -

TFT-LCD = Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display TFT's encompass several variation's of an electronic matrix (LCD) that positions light filtering/blocking elements in a panel upon which images are displayed; this includes TN, MVA, PVA, and IPS matrix's. TN = Twisted Nematic… -
Re: This ought to get a reaction
We are going to have to disagree. I think photography, regardless if it's wedding, nature, journalism, etc. is an artistic expression of thought and the government has no business telling photographers what they can and cannot photograph, especially if it conflicts with moral or religious beliefs. There are bigger issues… -
Re: Wow! I need a new monitor!
Don't bother - a 6bit "TN" panel, suspect sRGB coverage, viewing angle issues Not too bad a choice but be aware that it is a "Wide Gamut" monitor. Do you work in the AdobeRGB or ProPhotoRGB color spaces? If you don't, then stick to a standard sRGB color space monitor. Your life will be a lot simpler and less stressful.… -
Re: Which one -- help please :)
What follows is a summation of information that various people have posted in a number of forums. In terms of image quality for photo editing, these are the TFT LCD panel types from best to worst: IPS (newer variants are S-IPS, AS-IPS, H-IPS, eIPS, etc) PVA (newer variants are S-PVA) MVA (newer variants are A-MVA, P-MVA,… -
Re: Any monitors that flip to vertical?
! No stupidity, only naivity. We all start with the same knowledge base... :D Budget... no problem. Makes it simpler. Get just one of the Dell 2209WA. Note the link provided in the earlier post. Dell has several monitors with the "2209" in their model number. The others are less expensive and simply do not compare. The…
