Re: CS3 HDR's?
Assuming the exposures you have captured have the sufficient amount of data required for the HDR process.. monitoring the Histogram will tell you - Looking for slight specks of over exposure on the 'normal' photo none on the -2 and plenty on the +2. My workflow goes something like this... I usually select the different… -
Re: Dayton Airshow 2009
Very nice work, Chris! You did a good job dealing with the weather! I've been shooting with the 100-400L for about 4 years now, it's my "go-to" lens for aviation work. You carry it around all day at an airshow, and eventually you get used to the weight, but it's a great lens for that use. On the Thunderbird cross-over, I… -
Re: 24-105 on an XTi?
I have had the 24-105L IS for about a year and a half and it is on my camera about 80% of the time. I loved my first L lens, the 17-40L, which may be another option for you so you can get the 10-22mm or a 70-200 with the extra money. I liked the 17mm wide effect look or laying the camera on the floor inches from my dog's… -
Re: MC#5 - Make it Stop!
jeffgroves (Jeff), bf2015 (Brian), The Curious Camel (Gail), ic4u (Karin) Thank you! It means a lot to me. __________________________ Gail, I have a really bad habit of not shooting lighting setups or documenting the shoot. I get so immersed into my vision that I always forget. Here is a diagram of the lighting setup as… -
Re: The SmugMug and Lightroom 3 Publish Services Thread
Found a situation that might be working as designed, but it is not telling the user that there is an error. It might not be directly related but all my testing indicated it was the cause. What is happening is that if multiple images are included in a Lightroom published online gallery are trying to be deleted the multiple… -
Re: New Computer...good brand
I use a pair of desktop computers to handle the majority of my image processing, and then an older laptop just to show the results to customers. (BTW, I moved this to the "Digital Darkroom" forum where we discuss computers etc. and where you'll find other similar threads.) My primary desktop is a CyberPowerPC Windows… -
Re: Has anybody been to the Galapagos?
Harry - my wife and I went 18 months ago and it was fantastic. Our daughter was a high school exchange student in Ecuador so we went down to visit her and made a side trip to the Galapagos. We will go back at some point to see more... Photos are here: http://smu.gs/PSRPUl You will hear all kinds of recommendations about… -
Re: Smoky Mountains/Tennessee/North Carolina
Well, Ian...you asked for it. ( ) Still driving around the Great Smoky Mountain National Park: 1. There are lots of tunnels along the park roads. This shot was an 'accident' but I liked the effect a lot. I didn't like that my cap was on the dash and that I got too much of said dash. All day long I tried to re-create this… -

greenpea does montana
I suppose I need to get a few of my pics posted so here goes. On Monday September 24, Devbobo, mike and I took the 16 hour train trip from Seattle to East Glacier. I was really excited at the potential for taking pictures from the train, but as it turns out, its a lot harder to get good photographs from a moving train than…
