Re: The Car Talk Thread
Anybody here ever heard a Flowmaster Super 40 attached to a V8 in person? Granted the sound will vary from engine to engine because of firing order (among a whole slew of other things), but how is the volume? Is it obnoxious loud (i.e. not daily driver volume level). Anybody heard Flowmaster 70's in person? Same question… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
I agree completely but I'll do you one better. How do they call these stock cars? Find me the production version of any of these "stock" cars that have carburetors, distributors and points, V8's, rear wheel drive, solid rear axels, etc. Heck some of the street versions are only available as 4-doors. Car of Yesterday indeed. -

CK's as in those 19x8.5" things? Those are cold pressure cast, so they're gettig heavy at 28.1 lbs (well...that's light for a 19, but not as light as it could be). Put that on top of the fact that they are 19's...you're acceleration, braking, and handling will be hindered. What do you think of the BBS RGR's? 19 will still… -

Sharper cutoff (pencil thin) Throws more light to the sides of the road "city light" you can see at the top of the low beams Smoked reflectors (doesn't decrease light output) I have regular old 55w H1's in there now but I'll be upgrading to Osram Silverstars 65w when I can find some. If thats not enough I'll go 6k HID. -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
I've heard that before, but honestly it's more like pick one in this case. I could throw 5 more grand at the guy, he wouldn't blink, he'd just say it takes time to do things right. He works 6 days/week as it is...and he doesn't advertise his services. I'd gladly pick fast and good but not cheap, just not an option. I'm… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
BMW motorcycles have become Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde: R1200-- = horizontally opposed twin engine, boxer = the good Dr Jekyll K1200-- = inline 4-cylinder ~160hp = the crazy Mr Hyde! :D How's that? Ian's new bike is the K1200GT, a sport touring machine with the heart of a jet fighter. The engine is very civilized, full of… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
Nor will you like my HID projectors aimed specifically with the intent to blind all you *******s. lol I get flashed frequently (one of my bulbs is a bit loose and points left into oncoming traffic, oops!) and I just high beam back and leave it on... thankfully I haven't caused an accident yet... Just want other people to… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
You know, I don't love white cars, but I have to say, Oliver's car looks cleaner and better than yours at the moment. :hide I wouldn't doubt if the 535 got more than the EPA mileage, especially on the highway. My mom's 325 averages near 30mpg, consistently. I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure the sticker says in the… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
Don't get him wrong. He says obviously BMW builds the best motorcycles, he just says they aren't for him. I'd be pushing the K1200R with all my might if they were. BTW, why does nobody make fast small engine bikes any more? I and he both think an extremely light 250cc would be loads of fun, but it seems like all of the… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
new f150's are leasing for next to nothing, and even the big V8 4x4's get better gas mileage than the Ranger I had just last year. if you buy a $3k car this year, you'll want/need a new one in about 3 years anyway. for just a bit more, you can be driving around worry-free in a brand new truck w/full warranty. If you're on…
