Re: Dgrin Meetups - Southern US
I'd be interested in a Shenandoah trip either date, and possibly both. Being that the park is in Virginia we might want to start a thread just for this, since there are probably a fair number of Maryland/Virginia/Pennsylvania people that are within an few hours of the park. Baltimore MD, Washington, D.C., Harrisburg, PA,… -
Re: Site Speed???
Hi Andy, Thanks for helping us to work on this item. I posted in a similar message thread about a week ago with my traceroute results. I tend to hop between multiple locations and multiple hardware/software combinations. Namely a Mac Mini using both Safari and Firefox. Also working on a Windows XP system using Chrome or… -

Tamron 180/2.5 35th Anniversary Edition was $725, now reduced to $690 Manual focus lens. Buttery smooth focus ring. Mint condition. Includes front and rear caps, hood. The Tamron 180/2.5 was a limited edition lens in celebration of Tamron's 35th anniversary -- only 3000 copies were ever produced. It's one of the lesser… -
Re: Wife says $1,500. What do I do?
Another Nikon user chiming in... I have both a Nikon D80 and a D300. Both are great cameras! (I think it is pretty easy to argue that the D300 is the best prosumer camera out there right now but I don't recommend you lie to your wife to get it) But as all the posts have indicated, both Nikon and Canon (and I am sure… -
SOLD: LNIB Tamron 28-75 XR Di 2.8 EOS Mount
Bought this lens 2 months ago (2/13/06) and it is sharp and fast. That being said, I have an associate who is selling his Canon 28-70L and I would like to buy it. I paid $385.00 with shipping. If you are interested I would sell it for $300.00 shipped and Paypaled. Everything that came with in the original box is included… -
Re: My SM Stock Photo Site is up running, but I have no sale expectation.
Do you mean following? Any actual procedures/details on NOT compete against SM free photos? Sometime money talks. I just have one suggestion below. Re: Doing my first bridal show this weekend!
Thanks! I have totally read that several times:D Well, I went 16X20s for two reasons-size and cost. I don't have a lot of money at the moment for this, so my booths this year are small, 8X8 spaces. With the 16X20s, I can squeeze in more of them on my back "wall" and they will look bigger because the space is small. Plus,… -
Re: macro
Essentially correct. As John said, DX lenses are optimized for DX bodies, meaning the image circle they project is large enough to cover a DX sensor but not necessarily large enough to cover FX. Some DX lenses may work (usually with vignetting) on FX sensors, but if they do it's just a bonus. FX lenses will work on DX… -
Re: Eyes: DSS #120 Selective Color
Adapting my techniques? I've been editing photos for a very long time, knowing how I am expecting to edit determines how I create the photo. I shoot only with a single flash and reflectors for now, but would like to have 3 flashes, does that make me a strobist? It's taken a long time to learn to control the light and how… -
Re: NEW Mac Standalone Uploader, V2.11
I was looking for something else and came across this in the console log, is it of interest, I know it might not be but the bit about ;just leaking; made me think it might be useful for troubleshooting (not that I know!): 2007-04-23 23:50:02.677 smugmug uploader[700] File: IMG_5523.jpg AlbumID: 1598390 2007-04-23…
