Re: Week in St. Croix
Weds - Feb 5 We have gone into Christensted enough now, so that we can recite all the landmarks. This intersection is the one that looks like we turn right but we go straight. This one is the one that if we go straight we will be out in the boondocks. Here is where they are digging the big hole. Here is the metal plate in… -
Re: Anderson County Lake - Bay Area CA
I didn't know you meant processing details....my bad. So I know nothing of layering or any other software for processing besides LR4 which btw doesn't handle layers. As for the question of hot spots, the only term that makes sense to me there is "highlight recovery". Actually slider used to be present in LR3 but now they… -
Re: 70D ISO Test, Straight from the Camera, JPG's
Yup. I turned the raw sharpness all the way up to see any noise better and forgot to turn it down to a sensible level before exporting to jpeg and uploading. Those shots weren't meant to win any prizes, just a scene with a lot of dynamic range to test on. I have been more impressed with this camera than any other I've… -
Re: Olympus OM-D E-M1
* DUAL FAST AF system that combines both Contrast AF and On-Chip Phase Detection AF. * Electronic viewfinder (EVF) that is as large as a full-frame DSLR viewfinder and has added creative control. (Display time lag of 0.029 seconds.) * New 16.3 megapixel Live MOS sensor, a new TruePic VII image processor. * The TruePic VII… -
Re: A Trip Too Small: Fiji, New Zealand, and Some More
Guess I'd better get caught up! Kelsey opted in on one of the pay-to-adventure items in Wanaka, which was a flight in an aerobatic plane where, with minimal instruction, you are placed behind the controls of an airplane, and you personally get to take it through the maneuvers, including takeoff and landing and a variety of… -
Re: Where do I start? RAW, CS6, LR4
Welcome Barbara, another Hoosier!! I rec you shoot RAW, and start with Lightroom 4. Lightroom is easier to do Raw rendering with, and simpler to learn than PS. If you cannot get good images with LR, then it may be time to move on to Photoshop for selections and local image editing. If you want to edit with Smart Objects,… -
Re: Backdrop Type and Size ??
digital backgrounds.....yes...with digital bkgrnds you need a solid color bkgrnd to remove it easily...at one time it was thought it had to be green or blue...however you can remove any bkgrnd but it can be a real pain....solid colors or near solids work best....I have used blk in the past as long as my client were dressed… -
Re: Updated Digital Download Pricing = Business Killer
Sounds like you have the same clients I used to cater to that would balk at me charging $1 per cherry-picked 4x6. It might take ten shots to get that one and they're still complaining? Move on. I did. Inflation is present in lots of places. I no longer buy Top Ramen now that it is no longer 10/$1 yet you don't see them… -
Re: Can anyone recommend pro traditional leather wedding album suppliers?
10 years ago I was getting more than $3000 for an album with pictures! I'd sure as hell want a LOT more than that now. Just my opinion but having a $1000 album in a $3000 package seems disproportional and not very good business to me. How much are the albums going to cost on your high end packages if you are going to drop… -
Re: What should I do?
It's true that the Canon T3i/600D has a type of AI Servo. It is wrong to assume that it is similar to that used in the 1D series bodies. Firstly, the 1D MKII/MKIIN has a vastly different AF sensor, with Area-SIR, 45 AF points, 7 cross-type, 1 high-precision and high-sensitivity at f2.8, points sensitive to f8. The T3i/600D…
