Re: How to do AF Microadjustment (50D)
Ehrm... the target pattern should be at 45 degree angle with the lens... at least with the testing system that I used. You then focus on a black/white target after which you can see your actual focus point on scales that are printed at both sides of the target. These scales must come closer to, and further away from the… -
Re: How to do AF Microadjustment (50D)
Thought I would post my version of the microAF target. This one is loosely based on the lensalign system only my version is made with....wait for it....LEGOS! Setup Viewfinder view Details The black legos in the middle are the ones with a hole in the middle. These are used in the second column and then there is a white… -

First, I was having problems with reproducability using the technique outlined in the first post; the adjustment factors were moving all over the available range. OK, maybe that's a little strong, but they were… -
Re: How to do AF Microadjustment (50D)
Yes, quite acceptable! Here are some 100% crops (800px x 800px) All photos are SOOC - no sharpening, WB correction, contrast ... nothing. These are 17mm, 33mm, and 55mm (all at f/2.8) taken from about 5 feet from the subject - which is about 1/2 of the shortest distance I would normally be using this lens. These are 17mm,…
