Re: The Car Talk Thread
WB Zack. Well haven't been around much (other than when at work ) because all my spare time has been going to finding a new daily driver. I had bought a 99 blazer but after a few days I noticed some things I didn't like (putting it mildly) so I spoke (:rambo:boidlynnsite gun2:thwak) with the dealer and he graciously… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
There's even variation amongst the good gauges. Try 3 or 4 of the same brand and make and there will be variation. It's a pretty ambiguous thing to know an exact pressure. Best you can hope for is consistency with the gauge you have over time. That said, the stick type gauges are complete crap as are 99% of the ones… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
Well so much for getting something fuel efficient. I had found a fuel efficient saturn really cheap, and in decent condition, but the guy was taking to long to get back to me and I only have so much free time. Instead I ended up financing a couple grand over what I had and bought a 99 blazer 4 door 4x4 with brush gaurd and… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
I'll keep an eye out find you a nice one. I really like these older airheads but once you are used to the newer models its a bit of a power/handling drop. But if its about handling & power ..we would buy jap. Mate of mine went off a bridge on his '99 1100 GS a while back and it only had a little bit of damage (mirror, foot… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
I've heard that before, but honestly it's more like pick one in this case. I could throw 5 more grand at the guy, he wouldn't blink, he'd just say it takes time to do things right. He works 6 days/week as it is...and he doesn't advertise his services. I'd gladly pick fast and good but not cheap, just not an option. I'm… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
This is not entirely true. Although most do agree that E39s+ are worse off than cars prior to the E39, the "community" that "agrees" on this are about 80% (if not higher, like 99%) owners of older BMWs. If you ask me, BMWs share a lot of problems. Older bimmers are just that... old so they of course require special care.… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
I doubt it That interior hadn't been cleaned for a couple of months when I took that picture, which explains why there is a pen there in plain view (99% of the time there is only 1 pen in the car and it is in the first aid kit...I hadn't cleaned my car for a couple of months so it was a bit of a mess :p). The other thing… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
My experience (and related complaints) were all w/ the top up! The more I learn about Miata, the more I think this one was just a bad buy. The '99 I went to check out was sold by the time I got there. I guess the price was right! The guy tried to quick sell me on a '90 he had 'just gotten in' on the back lot. Condition was… -

'86 300ZX turbo 150k miles VG30ET V6 (currently in a state of rebuild (IE I started taking it apart and haven't had time to finish fixing what I wanted to to be able to put it back together)). '94 Chevy Astro Almost 200k Miles 4.3 Vortec V6(was daily driver, now is in limbo as I decide whether or not I want to keep it as a…
