Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
The diet soda data is pretty new and we'll see what shakes, but here's an interesting short article. The cholesterol of 150 is extremely well established. Here are some quotes: “We’ve never had a heart attack in Framingham in 35 years in anyone who had a cholesterol level under 150...Three-quarters of the people who live… -
Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
What a great achievement, Mike! The head of the Framington Heart Study, conducted since 1948 on 5,000 men, said in the history of the study, no one whose total cholesterol was below 150 had ever had a heart attack. Since he made that statement, many cardiologists have weighed in, including the current president of the… -
Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
I think there are a few very intriguing, simple observations: 1. No one seems to have observed coronary disease in people with total cholesterol of less than 150. The leading lights of the field have been on the lookout for a case like that but so far none seem to have been found. Above that, it gets all complicated about… -

Careful. Oprah said that on air and the kind, $150 billion beef industry sued her and dragged her through a long court case. She was found innocent, but they've appealed so they can drag her through more. That'll learn her. > even the claim "no one dies from CHD with levels below 150 is not entirely > true http://www.vegsource.com/talk/campbe...ages/9539.html I'm not sure who that is who made the forum post, but he believes he heard Dr. Castelli say that 5 people had heart attacks who had total cholesterol below 150 all their lives. I wasn't… -
Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
Second, he didn't mention that no one can find coronary heart disease in people who have a total of less than 150. All his data was in the complicated zone where it's above that and so many factors then come to bear. If the Swiss did have the lowest rates of heart disease, are they fitter? Do they smoke less? Do they do… -
Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
You are correct in thinking todays veggies are not as nutritious as in eons past, and this is due to the fact that growers super fertilize everything with chemicals.....even our "organic" food is not 100% organic......so yes I do take a B - supplement and find that if I take them at bed time.....I am awake prior to the… -

Curried Pototaoes and Spinach Another "keeper" of a recipe... adapted from a recipe in the cookbook Mike recommended (150 vegan favorites): http://beanland.wordpress.com/2008/01/26/curried-potatoes-with-spinach/ I upped the potato and spinach quotient, kicked up the heat a bit, and it turned out to be delicious. You can…
