Re: Upcoming Lightbox Changes
I certainly agree. But moving on, is there some other way you plan to address the sharpness loss when moving from display copies to fills? (I can, of course, re-introduce crisp image rendering locally via custom CSS. That comes with a downside. I then need to review the site image-by-image and insert special code to turn… -
Re: Upcoming Lightbox Changes
As far as I can tell, when not using display copies, the image rendering SM has in the test lightbox generates picture-damaging jaggies whenever there's a curved edge or angled straight edge that is at once fairly long, smooth, and high contrast. Earlier I estimated the catastrophe rate with that approach was about 1% for… -
Re: Upcoming Lightbox Changes
In the last few days, I've continued to explore sharpness differences in the new and old versions of the lightbox and with crisp and auto (default) image rendering. All is on Win 7 with 125% scaling, Firefox 63 with 80% scaling (so images come out "right"), 1920 x 1200 monitor. I've also looked at the X2 display copies… -
Re: Upcoming Lightbox Changes
Personally, I find it worse than the current lightbox, less clean. But if this can be corrected/removed before it will be online published, through the Lightbox options in Content and Design or through CSS, I'd be extremely happy. On the other side, the good thing is that you have to click and the texts don't come out if… -
Re: Upcoming Lightbox Changes
These are all great desires and uses for how you or your visitors will view your photos. It's very easy to focus on a feature instead of focusing on the desired outcome and that's something we've been really honing in on as part of our design process. We don't want to build a feature, we want to build an interface to get… -
Re: Upcoming Lightbox Changes
I've been using the Stylish plug-in in Firefox to explore customized CSS for Lightbox Version 2. I've not worked with other browsers yet. I have mostly positive things to report. Warning: a somewhat nerdy report follows. I had no trouble working my way around the CSS and making the mods to move to the sort of layout I… -
Re: Upcoming Lightbox Changes
Thank you @leftquark, I was wrong, for customizer I insisted on trying to open the lightbox through Content and Design :D I've seen the new lightbox. Between the new and the current one, I'm for the current Lightbox for the same reason well explained from @Allen and @Jtring Aesthetically it's really bad that with every…
