Re: Hasselblad CFV-50c
From the first link in the above post: "The CFV-50c comes with a cutting edge CMOS sensor (just like its H5D-50c sibling) offering photographers outstanding performance at all ISO settings. Now dedicated V System users – even those with cameras going back as far as 1957 – have access to the very latest imaging technology… -
Re: Raw - Why should I bother?
I've lost track, what tool are you using to edit (raw or not)? As a general practice, what most people do when working with raw, is worry about aspect ratio not size. Maybe that's actually what you mean by size? But if you mean "size" as in either file size or pixel dimensions and you are doing the edits to reduce files to… -

Going Under the Ice - 26img
Taking SCUBA under the ice can be very dangerous, for obvious reasons. Typically, if a dive goes wrong, the way out is always up, but with a solid surface overhead, that's not so anymore. The water rescue team set up an ice dive Saturday for a few members to brush up on skills, and for one member's first ice dive. I didn't… -
Re: The SmugVault Discussion Thread
Great idea - way overpriced IMHO. I was asking for this feature for months ... (to upload RAW files as a backup) ... so the feature was a welcome addition, but I had no idea it would be priced so high. I calculated it would cost me about $5,000 per year just for my RAW files - given my current data and shooting 300GB for… -
Re: Why would you sell the client a DVD?
To make money. Which is the reason I'm in business. As far as i'm concerned, the mentality of ' Hold on to your negatives and never sell them to the client" and the idea of repeat sales in teh future was the biggest load of costly BS information i hever had the misfortune to one time believe. The amount of clients that… -
Re: How much ink does an injet use?
When I started doing event work and churning out large amounts of prints a couple of years ago, i was horrified by what it was costing in ink per event. it was our major and significant cost of the whole exercise! It was costing me several times more than fuel to travel the 60-90 to most of the events we covered and that… -

Re: how would you handle a big ball room type wedding?
.....Thats me!!!.... ...and were it me shooting the event that is how I would do it! If you can get past wanting the background brightly exposed(why is that a requisite anyway?), read on... The ambient light at this location was pathetic. I remember my assistant nearly having a breakdown at the rehearsal. Aside from the…
