Re: New 70/200 lens question.
First let me thank everyone who responded, I appreciate your thoughts on this. Well except for Lynn, I may never speak to her again for starting this. :D Andy, Why do say "portraits? sure, outdoors though." Does this lens have a phobia about being indoors? Jim Fuglestad's site is well worth visiting. Now , how to pay for… -
Re: Pricing??? for SmugMug prints
I am sorta old school....I do not allow customers to decide crop of image...the image is my vision and that is the way it stays...so I crop all my images (ones for sale) to the 4x5 aspect ratio (approx 700dpi for my D300 and I use photoshop for processing)...by cropping to 4x5 that means I offer for sale 8x10, 16x20 and on… -
Re: Does this sound like spam?
agreethis is where I was going....my grammar is terrible, even after 4 semisters in college, so I never dismiss on account of bad grammar......... I do not have any idea where Adak is but if you have to fly in then they pay for it......if you blow it off some other photog will take it at some point......it never hurts to… -
Re: Copyright registration workflow help
I wrote an action for CS3 based upon attorney Bert Krages example here for a Dump folder. Mine are set for 200px on the longest side at 72 dpi. People have stated that you can go even smaller, but I'm just not comfortable going any smaller than that. You just run the action when you've finished processing an image and it… -
Re: Promenade 1 & 2
Oh, I have the order a little wrong. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/rolleyes1.gif" border="0" alt="" > The first image below should be second above, going backwards from latest to earliest. It's a picture of the skyline looking towards Hobart city from Sandy Bay. On the left is Australia's first legal casino,… -
Re: >>> DSS Challenge #4 (Photo Filters): Feedback Thread
Feedback for Page 4 Entries #31 Evening Harvest (shatch) - Yet another one on the agonize over cutting it list. The composition is captivating, as is the lighting. Two things I didn't like, the vignette and the sky and far BG grass colors. It did give me a feeling of trying to bring the harvest in before night fell. #33… -
Re: Equestrian Eventing - trying something new
Thanks for the in depth comments on rider form and the images - it will definetly require some time to get the feel for the shutter lag and that is probably the least of my current concerns. The lens was in MF mode theoretically prefocused to the middle of the jump with the camera in Manual: shutter speed was 1/1000 -… -
Re: "Affordable" LCDs for Image Editing
The best LCD gaming monitor would have a "TN" TFT panel. These are not ideal for image work. For gaming, especially fast action first person shooters, it is all about the pixel response time (often stated as typical 2ms gtg, gray to gray) and the input lag which is the time delay between when the monitors' electronics… -
Re: Justi's Abrasive LPS Critique thread
Thanks Thanks for the little mini critique. This was my first post ever to DGrin and second to a contest. It's definitely a learning process. I noticed my heart in my mouth, as well as my stomach, waiting to see any critique (I don't take it well, but have been learning to separate "me" from "my photo".) At least my photo… -
Re: Help me buy into a system!
Ummmm .... I think I have to disagree wit Chris H on this. It's true that you select the camera body for the type of shooting you want to do. For example, the 5DII would not be a first choice for photographing a football game. With some notable exceptions, you can match the offering of one manufacturer with that of…
