Re: Wedding - First Time - Equipment Question
For a list of extensive wedding photo list also search other wedding photographers sites. I found a couple others and added some to my master list. Have the B&G go through the list and cross out what they don't want, but also let them know that doing each and every one adds time to do them (this way you don't end of with a… -

barbbarb barbbarb barb bow bowbow bowbow clapclap clapclap clap BTW CONGRATS!!!!! YOU DESERVE IT!!!!! I would suggest you take an afternoon and go to at least one photo exhibit there in Charleston, to see what others are doing..... Personally I cannot see printing, matting and framing anything smaller than an 11 x 14… -
Re: Dance Studio pictures
$26 for 1000 prints, not bad. I think my current canon machine costs $1 per page for ink, then the paper is on top of that. so probably $1000 to $2000 after its all said and done. :) I wont be doing sales the day of the posed portraits, because I figure there will be between 5 and 8 minutes per student and the sales… -
Re: Hasselblad CFV-50c
From the first link in the above post: "The CFV-50c comes with a cutting edge CMOS sensor (just like its H5D-50c sibling) offering photographers outstanding performance at all ISO settings. Now dedicated V System users – even those with cameras going back as far as 1957 – have access to the very latest imaging technology… -
Re: New and looking for some help
I strongly recommend allowing more budget for the lenses, unless you are just looking to document and snapshot. The images that people remember are the ones which have some sort of "wow" factor, and most consumer lenses just don't pull it off very frequently. I believe that it gets most interesting when you acquire… -
Re: Looking for a lighting setup
Let's start with exposure. Since the lighting on the bridge is a relatively fixed entity, I searched for a photo of the GGB on what looks to be a moonless night. The image I found also still had the EXIF attached, so I knew the exposure for that image, and it looks to me to be a fairly good exposure. Reverse calculating… -
Re: Connection Error message - CLIENT WORK HELP!
Scott, I have been getting various errors when trying to upload to SmugMug as well. Not sure what is different. Worked OK on 1/9, but then have had nothing but trouble between 1/26 and now. I have yet to upload a file without getting some error or another. One difference is that I am trying to upload video files, but the… -
Re: Audubon Swamp Garden in Magnolia Gardens
Again, thanks for the kind comments everyone has posted. They are really appreciated. A day late, but as promise - here is a rough workflow of how I process the majority of my photos. First, I do as much as I can in RAW using Adobe Camera RAW prior to importing them into PS CS2. There are several reasons for doing this,… -
Blurring or Replacing a Background in CS3 or CS4
A topic that comes up frequently is how to blur or replace a background, or a sky. Not stated but implied also, is easily, quickly, seamlessly, and undetectable. I'll bet we all have at least one image which might be improved by an alteration, or blurring, or replacement of a background. With older versions of Photoshop,… -
Re: Splotchy skies
Hi Sonafro, The advice given by the others is good. I'm going to amplify somewhat, repeating some of the earlier advice for completeness. The major change you need to make is to dispense with auto-exposure and handle your exposure settings manually. Just set your camera's exposure mode to "manual". For night sky shooting,…
