I caught a series of shots yesterday of Tom Perkins' 289' modern square-rigger "Maltese Falcon" getting t-boned by a 40-foot yacht. Someone on SailingAnarchy posted an animation of the shots, which I like better than any single image. This is rare stuff. It was jaw-dropping to watch.

Both vessels sustained damage. After the initial impact, you can see the sloop's masthead tear the main topsail of the Maltese Falcon.

It ran into a huge square-rigged ship. Not believing your eyes might be a start...

Actually the answer is probably in the very last frame. You can't see past your own sails if you don't peek around or put a crew member in the bow. The idiot in command should know that.
    Creativity's hard.

Great series! Don't take this wrong, but when I first saw it, it looked like a CGI series to me. I love the lighting.
