Hi Y'all,

Nikon just contacted me by phone today about the D2H I had returned to them. http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=43289

They are replacing my camera with a D2Hs. :clap

I am a happy camper and more than satisfied with the final resolution.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I was impressed with how quickly they resolved this. I'm getting a brand new camera, the later version of it too, and a full refund on the $ spent on the repairs. You can't do much better.

Nah my D2X is just fine and with the firmware update getting released soon the differences beween the D2X and D2Xs will be mostly minor but the differences between the D2H and the d2Hs are much greater.

Thats the only other resolution I can see other than giving your money back, but I know they want you to keep coming back as a Nikonite and not turn to the darkside like Andy keeps persisting you to do.

But you went through so much, I think they should have given you a free lens or something, You should throw another hissy fit when you get your get your D2Hs body. mwink.gif

I think you are right about the resolution. I think they messed up the D2H so bad the last time that they couldn't bring it back.

I hold off on the hissy fit for the moment. My hissy fits are too dangerous to be used lightly. rolleyes1.gif

Considering how much trouble Harry has had with this camera..... I tend to wonder about that.

It's great that they are finally stepping up and replacing it out right with a new camera. But you would think they would have wanted to get the lemon out of their clients hand sooner. ne_nau.gif

Congrats on the new toy Harry.

Congrats on the new toy Harry.

On the whole they did OK. There was an anounced issue with the sensor and the first two visits were for that issue. That was quick and they fixed the issue. When the third occurrence came and went beyond the sensor issue they goofed up the repair.

When I complained they immediatley refunded the repair costs and a week later notified me that they were replacing the D2h with the newer D2Hs which has a resale value of around $500 more than the D2H. Also I'm getting a brand new camera w/o some 65,000 actuations on it like my D2H. Additionally since I'm getting the whole kit I'm also getting an additional battery with a value of around $50.

This leaves me around $550 to the better and I trade in an older camera with 65,000 actuations for a new later model camera . I really have no complaints on the resolution. Don't forget that this is only my back-up camera to my D2X so I didn't even lose any shooting time.

It sounds to me that, although you were given some headaches from Nikon, they also gave you some aspirin. :D

Congrats on the new camera Harry.

    wow... that is awesome!

Sorry you had to go through so much to get it resolved, but that is one sweet upgrade.

I hope you are as happy with the D2Hs as I am.

    I love mine..

I am very happy with the D2Hs so far. It handles as well as the D2H (you can't do much better) and the IQ is improved. It handles noise better than the 2H and I like the colors I'm getting with it better than the 2H.
