This is fairly new, and it doesn't appear it has been mentioned here yet so...
Lynda.com is distributing a new 6.5 hour DVD by Deke McClelland entitled "Mastering LAB Color". Some introductory videos can be sampled at lynda.com.
If $100 sounds like a lot for a DVD, it may be because you haven't seen it yet. McClelland was coming to your town and you had the time to go, you'd probably pay $100 to attend an All Day seminar with him. That's basically what you're getting, only you have the opportunity to repeat parts as necessary and timeshift it around your busy schedule.
I'm only a little way over halfway through Section 1, but already it is obvious that McClelland understands his stuff and is a good teacher. I think this would be an invaluable starting point for anyone planning on tackline the "bible" of LAB Color space: Dan Margulis' Photoshop LAB Color: The Canyon Conundrum and Other Adventures in the Most Powerful Colorspace
I'll probably have more to say about it as I go along, but I can already tell you that it has made clearer to me some of the threads on LAB Color here on dgrin.
You are probably already aware of Margulis' training videos available on Kelby Training. (A year of all KINDS of training for $199 is an awesome deal). NOTE: the link above does not yet include Margulis' ADVANCED LAB Color training video, which you can find on the List All Available Classes page. I haven't seen them (yet) but the list of topics makes it appear that Margulis assumes a certain level of knowledge. If you are more of a newbie to the whole post-processing/Photoshop thing (like me) but have already recognized the importance of the LAB Color color space, then the McClelland DVD looks to make a worthy starting place.

My opinions are free. And worth every penny.
