I am in a debate at the moment, I contend that I own the copyright to an image the moment I "create" it, and I do not have to register the image or myself to own that copyright. I am fairly certain I am correct, but I can't find a link from copyright.gov that explains that in so many words.
Does anybody have one, or am I going to have to keep reading all 300+ pages of the .pdf?
Thanks! Mike

I was hoping for something from copyright.gov though, does anyone have that, or I am dreaming for that simple of an answer?

Wasn't that the name of a cruse ship that turned upside down?
You are correct, and the copyright laws are dirt simple to find. Just search the INTERNET for copyright law.
Or go here.........U.S. Copyright Office

! Yes, it was! The remake with Kurt Russell was particularly BAD though!
Sam, I have been on copyright.gov reading 324 pages of the actual law, but that is not written in simple english, that is for sure. I don't want to sound like a dummy, I do have a college degree, but GEESH!

My "Poseidon" name comes from my "other addiction" here is a picture of my reef tank:
And yes, I do have a "Nemo" in there:
Except she is almost 9 years old now, and predates that movie!

in simple terms: copyright and registration are different issues but not mutually exclusive.
you automatically own copyright to any work you create. registration simply makes a public record of your ownership.
