So I read this article in Popular Photography Magazine (I'm sure a bunch of you get it) about how to set up these really cool shots. What you do is get in direct sunlight, put tinfoil underneath a glass tub, fill it with carbonated water, then get a color of paper that goes well with the fruit you decide to use. Drop away and pray to God you get the shot haha. I took about 250 photos and after getting correct exposure/shutter speed/WB and got these 6 keepers.

I really like these shots, and I would love to hear what you guys have to say about them. Thanks so much!

I don't know much about the technical side of what it took to make those pictures, but I know that I like them all. Very interesting concept that turned out really neat looking!

thanks a lot mud. I actually mounted my camera on a tripod and used manual focus. It was also difficult to find the correct settings since i had, in some photos, the dark red of the cherry contrasting with the light blue background. I didn;t want to blow out the blue or make the dark red of the cherry black.

I hope that's the technical stuff you were looking for :-p

I suddenly want to fall backwards into a pool of iced tea...

    Cool concept!

#5 is a KEEPER! Swirling!! Plus, i"m comforted in knowing what the fruit is when I look at it, number one is an apricot??? I don't know.
If you cloned out the arched bottom and gave it a little sharpening boost you'd really give it some sparkle, it's really nice as it is but that'll bump it up a bit.

I like number 2 with the cherry. It would be cool if you could make the bubble sparkle a bit. And I also like #5 the single lime slice. They make me think of an old sprite commecial.

I saw that article as well. Personally, I think a tub of bigger proportions would afford you the opportunity to capture sharper images and prevent the seams of the container in use from showing up in the frame. I really like the lime! Crop out the bottom of the "glass?" and you have a winner, IMO.

yeah, I couldn't find a bigger container that was super-clear like glass...everything plastic had that sortof cloudiness about it. Now that I have photoshop back, I'll repost the after-works of what I do with the cloning. Thanks so much for the feedback
