Neat Green Insects on Purple Flower

Found these little fellows in Utah yesterday. Not sure what they are, but they were so tiny. The flower is about 3/4 inch across and there were 3 of these green bugs on it. I was amazed when I pulled up the photo and saw the black and white area on the back. Very interesting.
What do you think of this shot?
How do I go about find out what kind of critter this is? Some sort of aphid maybe?

They are capsid or mirid plant bugs

There are several books around if you go to amazon.com and look in BOOKS, just type INSECTS and you will find all kinds of cool reference material.
You probably will not find one book that covers everything.
I use this one National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Insects and Spiders (Audubon Society Field Guide)

Thanks! Glad you like it. Definately my favorite macro shot I've ever made so far. Also the most difficult. I'll have to take a picture of the rig I used (think, umbrella on a flash bracket) standing on the side of the road.
