Technically I think this contest allows pretty much everything, since one can just claim there is a layer of Filter X (at 0.1% opacity)...

    Now:

    Sepia
    1) watch the pole growing from her neck
    2) dead center seldom works
    3) palm tree on the right is distracting, so is the bush/tree behind her

    Antique..

    1) Roof is skewed and doesn't add anything
    2) Hot Rods plate is distracting
    3) dead center again :-( ne_nau.gif

Pose is nice though, so is expression! thumb.gif

    Thanks Nik-

Yeah- I know- the location absolutely sucked to shoot. Stuff everywhere.

Just throwing the idea out there- I have others I could use- still have to edit 200 more. mwink.gif

I rather like the antique one. I don't mind the centered composition at all. But what I find most distracting is what's on the trunk of the car. It's really competing with her for attention.

I'd like to see another go at the antique shot with a vignette applied to it. It would be period-appropriate and help make her the center of attention. mwink.gif

Yeah, I know, that's why I'm not so keen on shooting public events anymore - you have zero control on BG or reflection... ne_nau.gif

Still? Only 200? Dude, you're lazy... I'd cull that down to 20 in less than an hour mwink.gifrolleyes1.gif

The idea is to make incremental tosses. A good rate is to shrink the selection at least twice at each pass. This way you don't have to think too hard and there is no sad feeling if you're not awarding an extra star to an image that somehow survived the previous passes. I usually do first two-three (depending on a total shoot size) passes folder by folder, and then go through the whole set. This way I only spend quality PS effort on the Real Winners, and while it still takes time, it's not like I have to go through hundreds...deal.gif

I like the first (love the treatment), perhaps with a good crop in from the left and a little from the top.

i seriously cannot decide which i like more.

i think #1 with even more blur on the edges would be great.
