My trip to San Francisco
Well i'm out here in LA for an internship this summer, and last weekend one of the interns and i thought it would be cool to visit san fran. we drove the 6.5 hrs up there on friday morning and stayed until sunday.
SF is EXPENSIVE. parking alone for a day is about $30... still worth it though.
it was a lot of fun. san fran is a lot like an east coast city - everything is packed really tight into a small area, and there is a ton of foot traffic.
and there were a fkn TON of bums EVERYWHERE. seriously, they lined the blocks. thankfully though, they mostly kept to themselves.
fun bars in the triangle area, and awesome pizza at this place called pizza orgasmica.
anyways, heres some pics:
alcatraz! tickets to the rock were sold out though...
AT&T Park (Brewers beat the Giants...bad news for the 'stros.)
The Crazy Crab. i dont know what it was, but the fans hated him. booed him every time he came out on the field. i thought he was awesome - we got a crazy crab bobblehead at the door.
The Bay Bridge. Fkn huge
Near the Fisherman's Wharf District
Looking down into the water
A small town north of SF called Sausalito
A guy balancing rocks in Sausalito. This was awesome
The only shot i have of the Golden Gate
On the Bay Bridge heading home, i practiced my rolling shots. just some random nissan

Then you must of seen me
This city has so much to offer. From the looks of it, you touched on mostly the waterfront. That place has cleaned up very nice over the past ten years.
thanks for the share. it is nice to see city from someone elses perspective

We only had 2 days in the city, so we kind of did a "whirlwind" tour. It was a lot of fun though! So much more tightly packed than LA.

crazy rock balancing!!wow
i just love this, so cool
I thought it would be a good shot of the rocks with the bay in the background, and it turned out ok! i thought B&W brought out the texture of the rocks a lot better than color did.
the nissan shot was just an afterthought when i was playing around on the drive home, but i really like the way it turned out! i really need to get/build a rig so i can take shots like that all the time...

Bonus points if you were driving when you took it
Seriously, SF offers a lot to shoot. Looks like you might have had a good time.

i tried to include ones that were a little different than the other so that it wouldn't get repetitive.
im really happy with how the rolling shot turned out, considering i took it through the glass in the passenger seat heading home.
glad you guys like them all!

technical question: how did you manage to get such a nice balance between sky and the rest? shots of mine like this usually have a somewhat overexposed sky.
Just started to build my SmugMug galleries:

sorry to updated an old thread...
i used a circular polarizer on most of those shots, which i would attribute to the nice balance between the sky and everything else.
thanks for looking!
