Daubenton's bat in the hunt
Hello!
Here's a bat I saw in eastern Finland at an amateur astronomers' get together.
I used a flash set to give multiple pops to catch it while hunting.
I got this:
I guess this sort of qualifies as a BIF, doesn't it? :lol3

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks!
Thank you Harry
It is ghostly, isn't it? It's about a half second exposure, 5 pops from the flash at around 10 Hz. The bats don't really seem to mind at all about the flashing lights.
Thanks!
Bats are cool, aren't they?
Thank you!

Tight Lines & Best Fishes!
Thanks!
These bats like to hunt bugs over the water on lakes. The fly around in circles very low above the water and swoop and swerve when they find something. Their name in Finnish comes from this, 'vesisiippa' translates as water vesper bat.
When the water is perfectly calm, you get two bats for each flash pop
