I spotted this spider on the wall yesterday and It was having a feast, of what I do not know. However, I did what Phil and Brian told me to focus on the eyes. I tried to do just that with the MPE and here are the results. If you can tell me where I can improve I will certainly be more than appreciated.
Regards
Bob

GOOD SHOTS BOB, good lighting and sharpness.
#4 & 6 best, better composition and 2 shots next to last nice and sharp.
you probably couldnt get any better shots of it on the wall.
unless maybe you could lie on the ground facing it head on.
now try to find one on a plant to get better compositions.

Yeah thanks Phil. I will do exactly as you say. I used the 580 with a diffuser. I am still puzzled as to what it was feasting on. I thought I had shot what it was eating but even photoshop CS3 wouldn't bring it up or I am not clever enough to do it.

Bob these are real nice you did really well with focusing on the eyes of the spider clap.gif

The spider looks like it has a few dints on its back, prickly looking legs too.
You done really well with these, and were lucky enough to get it feeding too.

Well Done Bob clap.gif you getting there thumb.gif ... Skippy :D

Thanks ever so much for those kind words. I don't know about getting there but I keep trying. I suppose practice, practice, practice will certainly help and that is what I intend to do. I did try to focus on the eyes as Phil and Brian told me to.

Good series Bob- focus looks good :)

As the others have mentioned- I would have tried to get a lower angle shot- either side on or head on by resting the camera lens on the wall.
