Took some of my nature shots and converted to Black and White. Finding that for some, the scene becomes much more dramatic :):

Nice! That boat photo begs for a wide angled panorama.:D

    Thanks Aaron :):

The canoe picture is one of my favourites since it's where I like to get away from it all. Wish I was there now . . . !

For sure geospatial; I hope to do that next time I go there. Would be a nice way to test my new camera, should I decide to get one . . .

Nice B&Ws. I think the boat one looks better in color though. The Watch Lake #1 looks really cool.

Peter- I find this image really compelling. I would suggest you try and crop it from the sides (especially the right side to bring the right side frame just in line with the trees). I have taken the liberty to do a quick crop to show you what I mean. Maybe I would leave a little more space on the sides- it really is a personal preference...

    Very nice capture regardless...

Your pictures look awesome!! I am a sucker for black and white for sure. Sometimes when I cant decide if I like a picture better in BW or Color I combine the 2. It doesnt always work out for the best but just an idea:

(ps. i am a n00b so I dont know what the rules are regarding playing with someone elses picture... if i overstepped someone let me know.)

    Thanks Nikhil . . .

I do a bit of cropping on some of my images, but it's still an art I need to learn. I appreciate the tip :):

Very nice what you did. That certainly is dramatic. I've never tried mixing color with black and white, but now I see I should . . .

As for working with someone's photos; I believe that when someone asks for opinions and advice they're giving some license to others trying different techniques on their images. It's the best way to learn. Maybe others can chime in here, but for myself, I appreciate it when someone takes the time to show me how I can improve my images and then gives examples :): (a picture is worth a thousand words)
