Hungry? Just don't "swallow"!

Well, I'm on the road again...this time in Jackson TN. I flew into Memphis, grabbed my rental car and hit the highway. About halfway to Jackson, I came across the Hatchee Wildlife Area. Of course I had to take a detour to check it out...

Under a highway bridge (perfect opportunity to try out my new Metz Mecablitz 48 TTL flash - wonderful!!!), I heard a lot of birds chirping, and upon investigation, found several of these:





While taking this one, I noticed the little guy on the left getting a bit excited:


It didn't take me long to figure out why; that is one dedicated mother!:




I hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking them, although I was standing the the near 100 degree F sun while doing so!

Going home today! WHOO HOO!

Woah! I used to love watching the swallows nests with all the little heads in Japan. Don't get them here, but this set brought back memories. Nice ones.

Very good set Neil. These barn swallows are very handsome little creatures. That little one sure did know when momma was coming.
