    Magical and mystical. Not sure if it could have a tad more exposure overall or something. But it works for me as is. Can you share some details on your technique?

    used a tripod, shutter-priority, auto wb, iso 400...make a wild guess as to exposure length, shoot, review on lcd, then adjust accordingly.

    i haven't tweaked it any -- this is straight out of the camera. when i try again and am fortunate to have a moonless night, i'd leave the parking lot and get closer to the geyser for different perspectives. i shot this a little after 11pm. there's no one around in yellowstone at that time but the animals, so i just snapped a few frames while looking around between shots for any approaching creatures. :D

    Great shot! The steam really adds to the image.
