Things can go wrong, and they do. Amazon never expected corrupt data from within the gossib stream. They got some, and learned from their mistake.

I'm sure there are other pitfalls that are yet to be discovered as this whole cloud-computing model isn't very old.. At least it sounds like Amazon will be able to reset the system more quickly next time.
