I had some time with my son to try using a flash with umbrella an flash on camera, also some photoshop. What do you think?

first and last poses work great. The tonal quality in all of them are alittle too yellow on my monitor... but lately I have been questioning my calibration. Maybe someone else can give you a better opinion on that.
