Bottle rockets!

Also from the amateur astronomer's get together in eastern Finland.
I shot the first with a 30mm then swiched to my 10-20mm wide and stepped in close enough to get sprayed, every time
What you do is take a 1-2 liter soda bottle, tape some fins on it, make a nozzle and release system (we use a fairly standard garden hose quick release connector that's big enough at one end to have the bottle top glued in it), put some water in, pump it up to pressure and let it fly.

Thanks!
Thank you
It is a lot of fun! We had a bunch of kids build the rockets and then launch them over the lake. A canoe team played fetch.
This is what I actually did:
Timing, start blasting at 5 fps on the one count.
Focus, guess at 1 meter and plenty of depth.
Everything else: luck!
Just about the only thing I knew I was doing right was placing meself a meter away from the launcher. I wasn't even looking in the viewfinder, I held the camera down low and took a test shot to see if I was pointing it anywhere useful (this technique works magic with ultra wides).
Glad you liked the pictures!
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback!

Surprisingly dry too a meter away from a bottle turned upside down with water and 8 bar of pressure in it!
Thanks Mary

This looks like a heap of fun Pyry.
I love the last shot, hope you didn't get water inside your gear shooting these.... Skippy

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
I wasn't that close
I was actually surprised at how little spray I got from as close in as I was. I didn't even have to dry the filter more than once. The spray breaks into really small droplets.
Thanks for the comment Skippy, I think the fourth is my favourite as well
