Problem with shutter release on grip

I got a used Canon D60 and battery grip from someone on FM back in 2005. Everything has been fine until Saturday (7-26-08) when the shutter release that is on the battery grip would not fire the camera. I have power for everything and the release on the body of the camera works fine. I do not have any instruction sheet or manual for the grip but am wondering if there is something I could have done accidently to inactivate that shutter release? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

    clap.gif Thanks Ziggy!
That did the trick. I had the feeling that there was something that I accidently changed but could not find it on my own. That switch has been on ever since I first got the grip. In fact it may have come with it set "on".

I was out shooting with the Light & Lens Camera Club at Carlyle Lake Saturday and doing way more lens changes holding the camera a crazy angles and can see how it could get accidently changed.

I think I will print out that post and leave it in my camera manual. It is weird though that the Canon site does not seem to have anything on this; I too had looked there just like the guy in the thread your referenced. Wonder if there was a sheet with it when it was sold by Canon?

    Thanks again

PS By the way one of the lens involved in my changing is a new Tamron 17-50. So far, it seems to be doing fine — will post more as I finish checking it out. It seems you were one of the ones that highly recommended it. Thanks

PSS Just realized an ironic thing from the thread you referenced — the guy that haden't turned his on in so long said he is 66. I haven't turned mine off (on purpose) since I got it and I turn 66 in early September! Is it a 66 thing???
