I need some rose petals for a project of mine (I bet CMorgan can already figure out what it is :wink :-) . I presume it's a commodity for weddings. I did some research online, came out with a few links, but I would like to check if anybody here has a hands-on experience with any provider, knows the fair market pricing, etc.
TIA!:thumb

    Nik,

The gardener comes tomorrow morning, I have bushes full. They're white (used to be fuschia). He will probably cut them off tomorrow and I will see if they'll be salvageable - are you using them as props to cover your models?

    Does free work?

    Yes and yes:-) thumb.gif
I need them to survive ~3 weeks, hopefully they will be ok in a freezer...
I still may need to find the red ones, though... Look better on a pale skin...
And also have a retail idea for the times when your roses are not available...mwink.gif

    American Beauty anyone????

I think it's a fantastic idea. I'd undertake it myself with a model but I'd use tulle and chiffon as well. Or some milky water. --- and a nude swimsuit for the model. rolleyes1.gif

I'm sure whatever it is it's going to be great.

Inspired by you I actually picked up a cheap sequined red mardi gras mask for 40 cents. Don't know quite yet what to do... need to get my joker projekt done first.... :cry

    Never mind then
Mine aren't going to work this time. Maybe another time.

For red ones, you just need to get fresh roses. You can dry them yourself.
Costco has red roses all the time. $12. for 2 dz.
Michael's has them in stock in the wedding dept. for silk.
I got some silk ones at Target in the wedding dept - but they're pink.

I know it's a drive, but whenever I'm home-home and need a massive amount of flowers for an event, the LA Flower Mart is the place to go, but it only opened to the public from 8 am until noon.

The selection at near noon isn't as good, but you might be able to bargain for the prices.
