Wonderful series of an amazing caterpillar. Not sure why but the last few shots made me think of a kid's toy where you have to put the coloured bits back in the right place

Are they actually prickly or are they soft hairs?

The third shot is my favourite, the caterpilla is very co-operative with your shooting style.

Thanks for commenting, maxine the spines are getting quite hard and sharp. biggest 2 are now 1.5inches and getting ready to shed skins again.
