Great image. Crisp, clear, the reflected image is as clear... in fact looking at it closely, it's almost clearer and with slightly stronger contrast and saturation than the direct photo.

Nice job! I'd like a 1920 x 1200 version delivered to my in box please... ASAP :)

    Take care, John Brody

Thanks Brody, the pond was like a mirror the water is usually two stops darker on a relection image so I used a 2 stop gradual neutral density filter along with a circular polarizing filter, the water is a tad darker and a little more saturated.

Are you one of those pixel peepers :D

Thanks so much, the image was captured in Grand Teton National Park at a place called Shwarbuckers Landing aprox 1/2 right of parking lot.

On this shot I used a B&W circular polarizer with a Singh Ray Drop in graduated NDG 2 stop.

You have to be careful up there when using a Polarizer, the sky is already very blue so use just enough polarizing effect to remove the sheen fron the surface of the pond or your skys will get too dark.

    I don't know what a pixel peeper is, but if it's a good thing, I'm sure I am. :D:D

Good mix of equipment and technique on the shot - The richness and contrast of the reflection seems ot bring a sense of calmness to the overall scene... Hmm, I think I'm getting too cerebral for my own good - Maybe that's what a pixel peeper is? eek7.gif

Mountains? Check. Reflections? Check. That's basically all I need to be happy :D

Great shot. I would love to see this at dawn or dusk and with some clouds reflecting too, that being said, while I know it's a cardinal sin to shoot landscapes in the middle of the day, I think the crisp clear blue sky works well here.
