I went out to catch some pictures of the migrating geese that are landing around our golf course, but ended up seeing some totally different wildlife!

These critters have decimated my shrubs this winter. To give this cute little thing some scale, it's bigger than a small dog. There's a few a them around that are just HUGE!

Our dog Buddy thinks he can catch one of these! They run so fast it could run in a circle and hit him from behind :rofl

Not in a million years!

Fantastic capture of a moving subject. clap.gif The sharp eye and head, with motion blur in the legs just where it is best. Shutter speed was perfect. Textbook stuff.

    Thanks guys!

I have to admit, I think it was more luck and equipment than anything else! We had just started an evening walk with Buddy the Wonder Dog and we were approaching a spot where I expected to see a few Geese. I was just changing my camera to Continuous and AI Servo when Suzanne screamed "Ami Lapin!" (that translates as: 'You Waskaly Wabbit get out of my garden' to me, and 'rabbit friend' to my wife:D )

It seems that Buddy had flushed the hare out of some nearby bush. I simply lifted the camera, panned and held down the shutter. It was over in a second or two. I quickly looked at the photo info and realized I had the lens pretty much closed down for max DOF. Rats. I think the shots were at about 1/200 of a second.

They looked promising on the LCD screen, but I knew that the focus could be off. This shot was the 3rd in a continuous burst. This is truly a testament to some truly amazing autofocus technology and maybe a tiny bit of panning technique (IMHO:D ).

Thanks again for the kind feedback. This was probably my first photo post in several months. Time to get back at it!
