Exploring the possibility of a small Pet Photo Biz here in the Westchester Ny area.
Initial research is giving me the impression that there are plenty of Pet Photographers around. Some with their own studio, some shooting at locations. Many people have - or know someone who has - a digital camera, even a DSLR.
I'd like to be offering something unique. Something the average user would not have invested the time or money in for just a few shots of their own dog.
Any ideas ? So far, I can't really think of any. Like : when photos were first getting put on cakes , those stereoscopic - 3D photos that you had to use a viewer to see the 3d effect ? I guess the way photographers use monochrome would be kind of an example of this. Then you have all the post shot , manipulation, photoshop stuff : pop art effect, etc....
I take all the photographs of the dogs at my local dogpark - Ossining Dogpark, Ny. My love seems more for the dogs than the photography, but I enjoy the photography as a way into the canine world. I started documenting the world of our dogpark about two years ago . Go there every day, and shoot about 500 shots. Post them on my SmugMug page ( dotfur.com ) every day for all to view and/or download. SO... I'm getting to be quite an integral part of the community.
I'll be asking more questions. Thanks for any insight into this aspect of the Endeavour.
