I really enjoy HDR photography, I know some people hate it, some love it, some over use it (me) but is very personal, you can make them look surreal or very real, is up to how you do them, I like to go all out most of the time :)

since I got my first DSRL I have only tonemapped single RAW files, back with my old point and shoot I would use several exposures, up to ten sometimes (once I get the autobracketing figured out, I will do several RAW files), please tell me what you think of some of them:

    8zil:

I moved your post to Other Cool Shots. The Whipping Post has some specific rules that you need to follow.

    Nice work, BTW.

I really love this shot 8zil, ghosted images of people coming and going,
passing through each others paths, its like passing through time clap.gif

You've got some beautiful shots here, as you said some folks like them and others don't, I'm one who does like them.

I do prefer the type that look more natural than the ones that look painted, however it depends on the scene, HDR is to me a very likeable art form.

    Beautiful old buildings you've photograph clap.gif .... Skippy :D

i like quite a few of them a lot. HDR can make for some really impressive images. the only thing i would say is that a few feel a bit too processed, even by HDR standards (like the first antwerp shot.)

but i like a lot of them, the last one especially

Photomatix is OS X compatible as a stand alone, and they have a plug-in for Aperture. I am considering this.

I like best the same shot as Skippy did. Probably because it would have been a darn good shot without the HDR treatment. I don't have any inherent problems with HDR technology, but most of these shots look pretty stereotypical in their presentation and processing. Seeing a bunch clustered together like this can be a bit overbearing--like eating green tea ice cream nine days straight.
A larger issue I have is generally with your framing of images. Most of these crops just seem too cramped, so together with the processing, it feels like you are cramming 11 pounds into a 10 pound sack.
That group of people shot is seriously nice though. That's your calling right there.
